How To Create An Audio Playlist In WordPress Without Any Plugin

There are many music websites which are using WordPress to add their audio songs.

Do you want to add any audio file or even want to create an audio playlist in WordPress? Most of the people would go to find a plugin.

You would be happy to know that WordPress supports all the famous audio formats because of its HTML embedding system.

As you know, mp3 is the most common and the most preferable audio format and it’s always recommended to use that.

What Should You Do To Add One Audio File?

If you’re using WordPress and have written a few articles then you would aware of adding the images.

Well, this is the same thing.

Just go to Posts>>Add New and use the “Add Media” button below the title space of the post. Just like you upload the images, do it and select an audio file from your computer hard drive.

You would see the audio file even in the post editor only.

NOTE :- If the size of the audio file is bigger and WordPress doesn’t allow you, you have to increase file upload size in WordPress.

If you don’t get any error then congrats, you have added an audio file in WordPress.

What Can You Do To Create An Audio Playlist In WordPress?

In the previous step, you have uploaded only one audio file.

Well, to create a playlist, you should upload many.

After uploading your first audio file, you will see an option on the left side of the media library to “create audio playlist”. Click on that and start uploading many audio files.

Click on the “create a new playlist” button and it will get added to your WordPress post.

Just like any image, you can select the title of the audio playlist.

You can edit each of the tracks. Fill the name of the album, artist, and even the caption. It’s the matter of choice whether you want to keep it default or not.

The result would contain one image of the current playing song and rest would be in the list below.

Whether you would click on any track from the list, it’s image, artist and the settings you have done would appear.

The music player would be shown only for one track at a time.

Check the working of all the tracks. If everything goes fine, congrats, you have successfully created your own audio playlist.

If any of the audio files doesn’t have any cover image, you can add a new one.

Just go to Media>>Library and choose the file you want to edit. Scroll down and use the more edit option and you will be taken to the settings of that audio file.

You should know that WordPress stores each image, audio or video as a separate post. Just like any other post, you can add a featured image.

Just click on the featured image box and upload the cover image for your audio file.
